Dr Nikita Vanderbyl

I write about Australian Aboriginal art from the continent's south east.

My doctoral research focused on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung artist William Barak (La Trobe University 2019). I work with Barak's descendants at the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation.

Other research interest include the legacies of British Slavery in Australia, colonial and contemporary histories of art and especially seeing and writing about First Nations' artworks.
